ABOUT US

WHO ARE WE:

Work In My Heels Networking Group (WIMH) is a professional women’s networking organization founded to empower women across industries to connect, share experiences, and grow both personally and professionally. We believe that when women come together to support one another, share knowledge, and celebrate their successes, incredible opportunities arise.

Co-founded by women of color, WIMH was created to provide an inclusive space where women can be honest about workplace challenges, find practical solutions, and build the skills needed to thrive in their careers. We have backgrounds that combine over 20 years of experience that span across the professional services sector. We have completed a secondary education, have obtained a professional license or certification and are experienced in facilitating discussions.

We understand the power of connection and the importance of support, and work collaboratively to cultivate opportunities for members to learn, network, and grow. Our vision helps ensure the group remains a supportive resource for women and we champion initiatives that strengthen our professional community.

*We are not mental health, psychological or life coach counselors. We do not offer professional therapy and are not licensed to do so. We only share, or encourage others to share, what they've learned through their own experiences.

OUR STORY:

We are friends with diverse occupations who enjoy hanging out. What started as casual hangouts quickly turned into something deeper. Between the laughs and personal life updates, we noticed our conversations always transitioned into “you won’t believe what happened at work last week”. We discuss challenges, accomplishments and the things no one really prepares you for. Even though our careers are differentwe realize we often face similar challenges in our personal and professional lives.

Over time, we learned we weren't the only ones whose casual hangouts include vent sessions about work. That’s when it became clear: we needed a space where women could show up as themselves, talk honestly about what they’re going through, and uplift each other along the way. Therefore, we decided to form a networking group for women to connect and support each other in their journey for professional growth and success.

OUR COMMUNITY:

WIMH is a community built for women who want connection that feels as empowering as it is genuine. We’re a warm, lively circle of professional women who come together to share stories, spark new ideas, and support each other with honesty, heart, and good fun.

With us, you don’t have to choose between being recognized as a professional or presenting the true version of yourself, you get to be both. This is a space where you can let your hair down, speak openly about workplace challenges, and surround yourself with women who actually get it. We believe that growth happens through real conversations, shared experiences, and the kind of encouragement that lifts you up and helps you move forward with confidence.

Our community isn't about job titles or competition, it's about being supportive without being stiff or feeling superior, empowering without being formal, and lively without ever feeling overwhelming. Whether you’re here to learn, connect, laugh, vent, strategize, or simply feel understood, you’ll find women who are ready to listen, cheer for you, and walk beside you on your journey.

*Because we host a space for women to feel safe expressing their real experiences and honest opinions, confidentiality statements and codes of conduct are distributed to participants.
